Meet Saphia
Saphia lives in a region in Kenya where the adverse effects of climate change, like drought, impact the ability of farmers to sustain their crops and livestock. The water sources are regularly dry, and their wells are often not dug deep enough into the earth to source water.
Saphia is one of the 76 million people we have helped empower with access to safe water or sanitation.
Saphia found a small, affordable loan for a deeper well and water storage tanks to be the solution to his water crisis.

Fifteen years ago, Matt and Gary worked independently to help break down barriers between people in need and access to safe water. A common goal to pioneer smart solutions to the water crisis brought them together, and their combined water and sanitation expertise and star-power have allowed Water.org to grow into a leader in the water and sanitation sector.
